Steel sheet pile and pipe pile formed a combined wall by KC9 connector. Pipe piles are the main retaining elements of the combined wall,carrying horizontal loads from soil and water pressure and vertical foundation loads. The intermediary sheet piles (preferably KPZ sections) transfer horizontal loads to the pipe piles. The diameter and thickness of the pipes, the intermediate sheet piles determine the strength of a combined wall. Varying these parameters leads to an optimized solution.Pipe foundation piles diameters up to 3000 mm, wall thickness up to 25 mm, and length up to over 50 m (without butt-welding). The maximum achievable section modulus is above 35000 cm³/m.
